TEHRAN - The commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base has said the unit has launched radars which extend the surveillance range well beyond the country’s immediate borders.

Farzad Esmaili was quoted by Mehr as saying the operational capabilities of the base have been in harmony with the ever-increasing pace of global technological advancements.

“In terms of engagement in battle and tracking, we are now in a place to claim to detect any threat in any altitude, which has been only possible by relying on indigenous capabilities and trained human forces,” he stressed.

“The indigenous and integrated system of the air base is constantly watching the country’s air space with full capability to protect the air borders,” said the commander.
